I have a very busy life. As a stay at home mom of a tweenager and wife of a very busy chef hubby, I am constantly on the go! I feel that we all need to live a healthier life, but sometimes life gets in the way. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to forgetting. I hope this list of 10 little things that can lead to a happier, healthier you will be of a benefit to someone!
Twittermoms and Tropicana are holding a promotion which prompted my post. For More information, click HERE.
1. When you get up in the morning, think of one thing you are thankful for. You'll soon find yourself with a long list and a smiling heart!
2. Take some time for yourself everyday. Even a few minutes of alone time listening to your favorite music, reading a book, or just sitting in quiet can make you feel better!
3. Watch your favorite TV show and don't feel guilty about it. Everyone deserves a chance to a little television entertainment.
4. Bring some light into your home. Open the curtains or your blinds. You'd be surprised how much better you will feel when you let the sunshine in.
5. Eat fresh fruit and veggies when you can. Nothing is better for a healthy body than fresh produce!
6. Drink plenty of water. You'll feel so much better when you are hydrated.
7. When you are craving a crunchy snack, try raw veggies and dip or frozen fruit. Frozen fruit also takes care of your sweet tooth in a healthier way.
8. Get moving. Take a walk and enjoy all that nature has to offer. It is not only good for the body, it is good for the soul!
9. Brighten your home with some fresh flowers. They add beauty to your home and just make you feel better.
10. Take a warm bath, light some candles and play some soft music. When all else fails, the bath prevails!

Top 5 things that would make volunteering easier
I have been both a volunteer and a volunteer coordinator with our school PTA. I also volunteer as a tutor, with my daughter's basketball team and with our church. Volunteering is very rewarding, but can also become frustrating too! Here is my Top 5 list of things that would make volunteering easier:
1. Give your volunteers some advance notice on any changes! Do not wait until the last minute to make them aware of changes!
2. Offer your volunteers a flexible schedule. If you need someone to cover for six hours, why not break it down so one volunteer does not HAVE to work the whole time. Some people can only work for a few hours at a time, let them!
3. Ask your volunteers for their opinions on how to make improvements on the volunteer scheduling. Someone might have a better idea! It never hurts to be open to hearing them.
4. Give everyone a chance to volunteer. I know it can be the easier at times to call on the people you are most familiar with, but everyone who wants to volunteer deserves a chance!
5. Say thank you and mean it! I will always work harder and more often when I feel appreciated! Don't make your volunteers feel like you are doing them a favor by allowing them to help!

10 Tips for Managing and Organizing Your Family
1. Keep a family calendar!
2. Plan meals ahead of time.
3. Make a homework schedule and stick to it!
4. Make a chore chart so the kids(and adults) can check off once they complete tasks!
5. Clean up after you eat, play a game, do homework, craft, etc. This keeps clutter from developing in your house.
6. Declutter your child's homework spot and have the necessary supplies close at hand. This will save so much time, because you don't have to spend time looking for pencils, paper, etc...or time clearing an area to work!
7. Find somewhere to put paperwork and bills, and actually utilize it! If you keep all your bills and other paperwork in the same place, you always know where it is!
8. Lay out clothes the night before! Your mornings will be so much smoother!
9. Make lists and add to them as your week progresses. I make grocery lists, and put on the refrigerator. This way, I can add needed items as I find them. I also make lists of people I need to call, and things I need to do!
10. Declutter your life as you go along. Finished with a book or magazine, recycle or pass it along. Encourage your child to clean out their notebooks and bookbags once a week. You'd be surprised how much clutter they carry!
Thanks for reading! These are just a few of the things that we do to manage & organize our family. This post was prompted by IconApps.com.
