Simply Potatoes Review and Giveaway
Back to school time can be stressful on a family. Both the parents and the children are getting used to a new routine. While our children are trying to get used to new teachers, classmates and homework, parents have to get back in the routine of balancing housework, dinner and homework. Sometimes I have been known to make a quick, less healthy dinner to save time. Thanks to Simply Potatoes, I can make a wholesome, delicious dinner without a lot of hassle!
My family loves to eat a hamburger casserole. My grandma passed the recipe on to all of us, and although we love it, making it can be time consuming. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients: 1.5 lbs of lean ground beef
8 large potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
1 large can of cream of mushroom soup
1 large whole onion, peeled and sliced thin
1 cup shredded cheese (any flavor you like)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 9x13 baking dish, press the ground beef into the bottom, add a layer of potatoes. Next, add a layer of onions. Cover with the soup. Bake for 30-45 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and the beef is cooked. Sprinkle the cheese and continue to bake until the cheese bubbles.
It is delicious, but it takes a while. We simplified things by using Simply Potatoes! Instead of having to peel and slice the potatoes, I use a bag of Simply Potatoes Homestyle Slices. My hubby always has to one-up me, so he prefers to eliminate the peeling and slicing of the onion. He uses the Simply Potatoes Diced Potatoes with onions. You still have to bake for about 30 minutes, but because Simply Potatoes cut more uniform slices and dices than I do, the casserole cooks more evenly!
