Brio My Very First Phone Review

Several months ago, I received a Brio My Very First Phone for the little ones to review. The phone was sent to me from Hello Baby in the UK. The phone is cute, and little miss carried it around everywhere so she could answer her calls. Here is a picture of the phone:

Little Miss especially enjoyed the mirror, and I would often catch her watching herself as she spoke,or jabbered into her phone. She enjoyed the squeaker buttons too, and for her first play phone it was nice to have. I would love to see a second phone, made just as well, that offered different sounds when you pushed the buttons. One that would ring would be a huge plus! The manufacturer recommends this phone for ages 10 months and up, which does seem about right. This is still in little miss's purse, and she uses it when she plays, but I have noticed the play decreasing as she gets older.

All in all, we love the construction of the phone. It is very sturdy! It is cute and a nice playtime item for your older infants and younger toddlers!

Scrumptious Salads from the Mediterranean

Scrumptious Salads from the Mediterranean

If you are looking for a quick, easy and affordable alternative to your usual Wednesday casserole or weekend burgers, then perhaps whipping up a fresh Mediterranean salad can defer the meal monotony. Mediterranean cuisine is known for its fresh and exotic cuisine, but you don’t have to live in Greece to bring some of these foods home to your table. Try some of these Mediterranean salads that are easy on your wallets, taste buds, and time.

Mediterranean Greek Salad

This salad is great side dish, or even a main dish! Add more or less of each ingredient or different ingredients altogether to make this salad yours! Use the following as a starting point for your salad.

Ingredients

3 cucumbers
1 ½ cups crumbled feta cheese
1 cup Kalamata olives (or your favorite olive)
3 cups diced Roma tomatoes
1/3 cup diced sun-dried tomatoes
½ red onion

Thinly slice the cucumbers; seed them if you would like. Slice the olives you decided to add to your salad. Dice up the Roma tomatoes, the sun-dried tomatoes, and red onion. Toss everything together until evenly distributed.

As for the dressing, there are a wide variety of potential dressings that can be used for this salad. You can try oil and balsamic vinegar, pre-made Greek dressings, or vinaigrettes. Like before, go ahead and experiment with dressings until you find something that you absolutely love. That’s the beauty of this salad; there are so many different combinations in which you can eat this salad. The best part is, it tastes fantastic every time and it’s healthy!

Lamb Gyro Salad with Tzatziki Dressing

This salad has a little more substance than a traditional all-vegetable Mediterranean. This salad turns a classic Mediterranean dish into a unique salad that is still light, healthy and tasty.

Ingredients

For lamb meat:

1 pound ground lamb
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon rosemary leaves
1 teaspoon oregano
I teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper

For dressing:

½ cucumber
7 ounces plain Greek yogurt
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil

For salad:

Chopped Romaine lettuce
1 ripe tomato, sliced
1 red onion, sliced thinly
1 cup Kalamata olives

To make the gyro meat, begin by preheating your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the lamb and the spices and knead the mixture until it is smooth and even. Mold the meat into 4 small sausage-like chains, or loafs. Keep them approximately the same size. Put the meat in the oven and bake on a sheet for about 16 minutes. Afterwards, take the lamb out of the oven and allow it to cool before you slice it thinly.

To make the dressing, start by grating the cucumber. Squeeze as much of the excess cucumber juice into a side bowl as you grate. Combine the grated cucumber with the yogurt, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil. Add the excess cucumber juice until your dressing has reached a consistency to your liking.

Lastly, assemble your salad. Wash and break the lettuce, slice the tomatoes, chop the onion, and slice the olives and toss everything together. Apply a generous amount of the lamb meat to your salad and top with the dressing. Alas! A completely homemade gyro salad!

Another great way to use this recipe is to chopped/shred the salad and the lamb meat and stuff it into a pita pocket. This is a great way to add a little starch and carbohydrates to the dish if you are a little more hungry than usual. Enjoy!

Add a glass of your favorite wine, a white tablecloth, and a candle to the setting and enjoy a beautiful and healthy dinner. You'll feel like you are dining right on the Mediterranean!

Take an Evening Walk

One way to re-connect at the end of a busy day is to take an evening walk with the entire family. Communication is key in keeping any relationship healthy so this is a relaxing and easy way to talk with your kids. Also, it is nice to be active with the family so switch it up with a bike ride or rollerblading.

We first sampled the UNREAL 54, Candy coated chocolate with peanuts. Great taste and I preferred them to the more well known brand. The UNREAL 8, Chocolate Caramel Peanuts Nougat Bar was next. I'll admit, I ate most of this myself. I loved it! Perfect amount of everything to me, and not overly sweet. My daughter took the entire UNREAL 5, Chocolate Caramel Nougat Bar to school with her. She shared with her BFF and they both really liked it. (We actually had to go to CVS to buy more) The last item we had to review was the UNREAL 77, Peanut Butter Cups. My hubby had eaten our review sample before my daughter and I got home, and he loved it! His only request was more peanut butter, LOL. My daughter and I purchased one so we could try it, and it was another winner!

With all that being said, the question remains...Would we buy UNREAL Candy? The answer is, Yes! We bought some to give away on Halloween and some for my daughter and her BFF to share at school. I feel better knowing my family, although still eating candy, is eating candy that is better for them.

Back in June, we were planning our August cruise and I was trying to find a nice black dress for my fourteen year old daughter to wear on formal night. Stopain Cold Review

Every time I vacuum or mop, my neck starts aching and my shoulders hurt. It has a lot to do with the degenerative disk disease in my back, arthritis and fibromyalgia that I suffer from. Taking an over the counter pain medication had always been the way I handled the pain, until I discovered Stopain Cold!

Stopain Cold had been sent to me to review and for some reason, I always had an excuse not to try it. One afternoon, I had taken some acetaminophen and it had not touched the pain in my shoulders. I grabbed the Stopain Cold roll on and rolled it on my shoulders. The feeling of a "cold heat" began immediately and I started to feel my muscles loosening. I had my daughter use the Stopain on the rest of my back and neck, and I could not believe how fast it worked. I am not saying it is a cure all. What I am saying is that it loosened my muscles and relieved the aching in my neck and shoulders! I really like the scent too!

My daughter plays basketball and softball and her muscles get sore. She used the Stopain Cold on her sore legs, and she was very pleased. She prefers the roll on medication to taking an oral medication!

Love Never Dies Review

My husband loves Phantom of the Opera, and a few months ago we were offered the opportunity to review the sequel, Love Never Dies. We were excited to watch it, especially when we read this synopsis. The year is 1907 and ten years have passed since the Phantom's disappearance from the Paris Opera House. He has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daae. Now one of the world's finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan, to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island, not knowing what is in store for them...

Love Never Dies did not disappoint. It started a little slow, but by the third act, I was hooked. The way Love Never Dies was filmed seemed a bit off to me at times, but if you are there for the story, not the (not so hidden) microphones, it is fine! If you like musicals, my hubby and I think you will enjoy it! We will be watching it again!

If you are a Gold member you get another game on top of the Spin-o-Matic. “Reel Slots Shots” is a county fair-style shooting gallery where you can win GVs. Ducks, rabbits, and even our mascot Poke pop up for your chance to hit. The more you get, the more GVs you win.

Finally, the favorite part of this slots game is the team battle aspect. At the beginning of your game, you get put on either the Skunk Team or the Raccoon Team. When the team battle starts, you can choose to go to the room where the battle is happening or choose to skip it. After everyone is dispersed to their teams, you try to spin your machine as many times as possible to win the most GVs. You play with your team and the team with the highest total amount of GVs wins. There are 6 battles throughout the day, and 2 of them give out cash prizes. Since everyone is a winner at Gamesville, for the cash prize games, one member of the winning team and one member of the losing team are selected to win the cash prize.

RCC isn’t the only game that pays you money on Gamesville. Some of the jackpots for the various games can reach up to $10,000! Plus, if you’re a Gold member, the Jackpot is doubled. If you play Reel Cash Critters, be sure to play other games like Frantic Fish or Super Chef to boost up your GVs.

I really enjoy playing Reel Cash Critters, and although I have not won any money yet, I was chatting with a lady yesterday who won $5. I can see this becoming a daily thing, because I enjoy the chatting between players almost as much as the game!
