Disclosure: I participated in this event on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers
for Zondervan. I received a copy of We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook to
facilitate my review. I was not required to write a positive review.
The opinions I have expressed are my own. No monetary compensation was received.
Being married to a chef means he has a library full of HIS cookbooks. I rarely venture into his realm and look for recipes to feed my family. I enjoy recipes that have some story behind them which is why I really enjoyed reading We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook by Becky Johnson and Rachel Randolph.
I found myself laughing out loud at some of the stories!! I love how both ladies give their own thoughts to different situations. It is so funny to see how differently people view things. I honestly have to admit that there were times I found myself tearing up when I read parts of the book as well. My mom always told me that if a book can make you laugh and make you cry, it's a keeper. This book is just that. We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook is not your typical cookbook! It is so much more than that. This book is about life, love, and all the little moments that make our lives worth living.
My hubby and daughter have been making recipes from the book and they actually cooked them for me during my illness. Chefy's favorite is the Bourbon Brown Sugar Pork Loin. He has cooked it twice since we received the book! Neither time did he take photos. LOL! Eating it took priority!
My daughter loves the Oven-Blistered Potatoes. They are quite yummy and are a nice alternative to the old boring side dishes we generally make. Believe it or not, we actually remembered to take pictures before all the potatoes were eaten. Kat did a great job slicing the potatoes!!
She layered them nicely before placing them under the broiler!
I love her finished product! Most of the potatoes were crispy and had an awesome flavor. Kat preferred the potatoes that were not crispy. Chefy loved all of them!
Another thing we love about this book is that the recipes are varied in their cooking level too! This one is easy to put together and it cooks up quickly too!
We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook is published by Zondervan and you can follow them on twitter and like them on facebook. You can also connect with We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook on the author blog or on Twitter, Rachel Randolph on Twitter and Becky Johnson on Twitter.

We are always trying to find delicious and healthy snacks for our family to enjoy. One thing the family usually agrees upon is fruit. Recently, we were offered the opportunity to try Del Monte Fruit Burst Squeezers and we were thrilled to give them a try. We received a gift pack from Del Monte which included:
I knew the family would enjoy the Simply fruit, but I was a little worried about the Fruit + Veggies pack. We received the Mixed Berry Simply Fruit and the Blueberry Fruit + Veggies, and believe it or not, the Blueberry Fruit + Veggies was the first to go! My family loves blueberries and they really enjoyed that flavor. They didn't even realize that they had eaten veggies.

Checking out the Car Deals with Sport Durst Hyundai
Disclosure: I will receive compensation for writing this post, however all opinions stated are honest and my own. I do not post a positive review about things I do not believe in!
We have been researching different cars on the internet for months now. Chefy and I are not sure whether we want a new car or if we want to go with a pre-owned vehicle. There are so many different choices out there, and we want to make sure we make an informed decicion. Recently, I came across a deal at Raleigh Hyundai dealer Sport Durst and it has me intrigued. They have a lease deal on their website for a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS for $199/month! The lease is for 36 months and the deal requires $2,199 down at lease signing. This gives us something to consider.
While I was on the website, I came across deals on tires! They sell tires that start at only $29.99! I know that is a good price. Surfing the Sport Durst Hyundai made me aware of the services that they offer, and they even have a 30 second credit application! It is a lot of fun browsing through the new and used cars that they offer. I really enjoyed spending time checking out the car deals with on Sport Durst Hyundai website!
Are you looking for a new or used car? Have you ever thought of checking out the dealer selection on line? Give it a chance. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover Review & Giveaway
Disclosure: Purex provided me with a bar as a sample as well as coupons to giveaway. All opinions are honest and my own! No monetary compensation was received!
Doing the laundry around here is a chore that generally falls completely on my shoulders. Laundry is not my least favorite chore, but it is not my favorite either. We go through a lot of laundry for a family of three, and that means there are a lot of stains to take care of too!
When I first heard about Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover, I was curious. At first glance, it reminded me of something my great grandma used when I was little. The bar itself is 5.5 ounces and it has a pleasant scent. The main thing that was on my mind was...will it work?
So I grabbed some of Chefy's work shirts and decided to try it out as a stain remover first. I simply wet the stain and rub with the bar. You then wait for 1 minute and wash as usual. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that it took care of the stains on those chef coats! WOOHOO! Once my stain removing test was a success, I decided to try it as a laundry booster. The directions say to grate 1/16 of the bar into the wash with the detergent and wash as normal, so I did just that! I threw my dirty towels into the washer and followed those directions. After washing, I noticed the towels had a clean scent, and the scent remained when they were removed from the dryer!
The wonderful people with Purex have given me 3 FREE coupons to giveaway to giveaway on my blog!
The coupon is good for one free Purex Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar & Stain Remover (max value $1.75), and expires 12/31/2014. There will be 3 separate winners of this giveaway! Entering is easy, simply fill out the rafflecopter form below!

Finding the best iPhone insurance
Disclosure: This is a guest post. I received no compensation for this post and have no experience with the company. Just wanted to share!
Today everyone depends on their tech toys. We start to twitch if we go just 10 minutes without checking our phones. And if something goes wrong, you shudder to think what you would do without your phone if it needed to (gasp) go in for repair! And just short of using rubber bands and glue, we will all do just about anything to keep our phones in working order.
Ultimately, this means most people will at least consider getting some kind of extended warranty to keep their phone in working order. While many consumers consider extended warranties a waste of money, this is a warranty option recommended by industry experts everywhere. There are a lot of options available, but if you want more than standard iPhone insurance coverage, you should consider ProtectCELL.
Just like you expect more from your phone today, ProtectCELL goes beyond just protecting your phone’s hardware. ProtectCELL offers plans that can help to locate and lock your phone as well as back up your data so you won’t lose anything if you drop your phone in a puddle. They can even protect the data saved in your cell phone from identity theft in case your phone is ever lost or stolen by locking your phone and wiping it clean, making it about as useful as a paperweight to a thief. ProtectCELL even offers “buy back” options so you can upgrade to the latest piece of tech without a problem. Even in-the-know tech site Mashable recommended the smartphone coverage options from ProtectCELL.
So make sure you really consider how much you rely on your phone before you select your iPhone coverage. Make sure your iPhone coverage plan will make sure you are completely protected against everything you dish out to your phone on a daily basis.

INTO THE WOODS is becoming a Disney Movie!
Disclosure: No compensation of any type was received! Just wanted to share!
DISNEY’S “INTO THE WOODS” VENTURES INTO PRODUCTION
FEATURING AWARD-WINNING CAST & PRODUCTION TEAM
Film to Feature Songs from the Award-Winning Stage Show,
Plus Brand-New Song by Stephen Sondheim
BURBANK, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2013) – Disney’s “Into the Woods” kicked off production last week, featuring an award-winning production team and all-star ensemble cast. Rob Marshall, the talented filmmaker behind the Academy Award®-winning musical “Chicago” and Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” helms the film, which is based on the Tony®-winning original musical by James Lapine, who also penned the screenplay, and legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, who provides the music and lyrics—including an all-new song for the big-screen adaptation. “Into the Woods” is produced by Marshall, John DeLuca, “Wicked” producer Marc Platt and Callum McDougall. Shooting in studio and on location throughout England, the film is slated for a December 25, 2014, holiday release.
“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
The all-star ensemble cast includes:
· Meryl Streep (“The Iron Lady,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “August: Osage County”) portrays the Witch who wishes to reverse a curse so that her beauty may be restored.
· Emily Blunt (“Looper,” “The Young Victoria,” “The Devil Wears Prada”) is the Baker’s Wife, a childless woman who longs to be a mother.
· James Corden (Broadway’s “One Man, Two Guvnors,” “The Three Musketeers,” “Gavin & Stacey”) plays the role of the Baker, a hard-working man who desperately wants to start a family.
· Anna Kendrick (“Pitch Perfect,” “Up in the Air”) fills the shoes of Cinderella, who finds herself on a journey of self-discovery.
· Chris Pine (“Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Jack Ryan”) portrays Cinderella’s Prince, charming and impossibly handsome, who is on an endless quest to find his bride.
· Johnny Depp (“Pirates of the Caribbean” films, “The Lone Ranger,” “Sweeney Todd”) steps in as the Wolf, who sets his sights on Little Red Riding Hood.
· Lilla Crawford (Broadway’s “Annie”) makes her feature-film debut as Little Red Riding Hood, a smart and spunky girl who journeys into the woods, finding unexpected adventures along the way.
· Daniel Huttlestone (“Les Misérables”) lands the role of Jack, an absentminded and adventurous boy who trades his treasured cow for five magic beans.
· Tracey Ullman joins the cast as Jack’s Mother, a poor and exasperated mom who is overwhelmed, yet fiercely protective of her son.
· Christine Baranski (“Mamma Mia!,” “Chicago” “The Good Wife”) takes on the infamous Stepmother who wishes for riches and grandeur; she'll do anything to marry off one of her daughters to a prince.
· MacKenzie Mauzy (“Brother’s Keeper,” Broadway’s “Next to Normal”) plays Rapunzel, a sheltered young woman who experiences the world beyond her tower for the first time.
· Billy Magnussen (Broadway’s “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “The East”) is the dashing and eager Prince who courts Rapunzel.
Celebrated actors from the stage and screen fill the supporting roles, including Tammy Blanchard (“Blue Jasmine,” “The Good Shepherd”) and Lucy Punch (“Bad Teacher,” “Dinner for Schmucks”) as Cinderella’s spoiled stepsisters, Florinda and Lucinda. Richard Glover (“Sightseers,” “St. Trinian’s”) is the Princes’ royal steward, Frances de la Tour (“Hugo,” “Alice In Wonderland”) portrays the giant, and Simon Russell Beale (“The Deep Blue Sea”) is the Baker’s father. Actress Joanna Riding (“My Fair Lady,” “Carousel”) portrays Cinderella’s late mother, and Little Red Riding Hood’s beloved granny is played by Annette Crosbie (“Calendar Girls,” “The Slipper and the Rose”).
The big-screen adaptation welcomes songs from the stage musical, including “Children Will Listen,” “Giants in the Sky,” “On the Steps of the Palace,” “No One Is Alone” and “Agony,” among others. Additionally, Sondheim has penned an all-new song for the story’s theatrical debut.
The award-winning production team includes Dion Beebe (“Collateral,” “Chicago,” “Nine”), Oscar® winner for the Marshall-helmed “Memoirs of a Geisha,” as director of photography. Dennis Gassner (“Skyfall,” “Quantum of Solace”), who won his own Oscar for “Bugsy,” serves as production designer, and three-time Oscar winner Colleen Atwood (“Memoirs of a Geisha,” “Chicago,” “Alice In Wonderland”) is costume designer.
“Into the Woods” premiered on Broadway on Nov. 5, 1987, at the Martin Beck Theatre. The production, which ran for 764 performances, won Tony® Awards for best score, best book and best actress in a musical. Among other awards, the musical received five Drama Desk awards, including best musical. “Into the Woods” has been produced around the world, including a 1988 U.S. tour, a 1990 West End production, Broadway and London revivals, in addition to a television production, DVD recording and a 10-year-anniversary concert.
