Summer is here and it is that time of year when we start hearing those words..."Mom, I'm Bored!"  When we have those ultra hot NC summer days, I always like to have movies on hand for the kids to watch.  I love movies that take the viewer to another time and place, something different from the every day.  We found one such movie!  That movie is Pirate's Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson.

Pirate’s Code: The Adventures of Mickey Matson
Released:  June 2, 2015

Running Time:  91 minutes
In this follow up to Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure, Mickey Matson is at it again; this time pitted against the evil Admiral Ironsides and his gang of pirates who are intent on destroying civilization.  They're new invention, the Tesla Coil, is a weapon of mass destruction that will send an electromagnetic pulse throughout the world, destroying every electronic device in existence.  With the help of a secret organization, Mickey and his best friend Sully embark on a mission to stop the pirates from taking over a submarine and stealing the last part needed to complete their devastating weapon.  If Admiral Ironsides succeeds in his plan, civilization will be sent back to the Stone Age.  It's a race against time, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

We really enjoyed this movie!  We were already fans of Shark Boy and Lava Girl, Spy Kids and Sky High, and this movie fit in with them perfectly.  There was no vulgar language and although the movie had some violence, there was nothing gory.  This movie had us cheering for Mickey the entire time.  We also have purchased the first movie, Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Treasure and enjoyed it as well!  This movie will get you and your kids thinking outside the box.  It is a wonderful way to spend a hot summer afternoon, a rainy day, or any day you want a good, clean movie!

I've written before about my love of Christian music and I am so blessed to be able to share my newest find.  One of my favorite groups, Hillsong United, has a new CD out, Empires.  My hubby and I love to listen to Christian CDs when we travel because it generally keeps us calm and reminds us what is really important!  Empires is a new favorite!  The songs are thought provoking and uplifting.  It is perfect for the entire family.

Update

If you are wondering where I have been, I've been taking care of my teen daughter.  Kat has not been feeling well, headache, body aches, fever, nausea, diarrhea, chills, etc.  Finally diagnosed with strep today, although she has no sore throat or swollen tonsils.  She has been running fairly high temps and when we got to the hospital, it was 103.4.  Down to 102.2 now.

If I owe you a review post, give me a day or 2 to catch back up.  My "baby" comes first!

Kat and Chefy

Thanks
