Where Jesus Slept Review & Giveaway #HGG #WhereJesusSlept #FlyBy

Disclosure:  We received a copy of this book to facilitate our honest and unbiased review.  All opinions stated are those of the Shelly's Bits & Pieces family.

One of the things I most look forward to is reading with my little ones.  This time of year, I try to find as many books about Christmas as I can.  While I don't mind reading stories about snowmen and Santa Claus to my kids, I feel it is important for me to make sure they understand the true meaning of Christmas.  When we were awarded the chance to review Where Jesus Slept, I was thrilled.   Here is a little about the book:
“This is the bed where Jesus slept. This is the straw that lined the bed where Jesus slept.” From here, the story builds with each spread, adding a new element and explaining the relationships among the participants and witnesses to the first Christmas. From Jesus sleeping sweetly to the wise men bringing gifts, this charming book reminds readers young and not-so-young of the joyous event we celebrate at Christmastime. Children will love the delightful illustrations and the engaging repetition in this cumulative tale.

About the author:
Norma Lewis is the author of ten books. She lives in Grand Haven, MI, with a marmalade cat named Scalawag. They both love spending time with her six grandchildren, ranging in age from three to twenty.  Illustrated by Katy Hudson.

This book is adorable!  The illustrations are beautiful and the color is amazing.  My family enjoyed reading it together and it has been read several times.  The book is designed for children ages 4-7 and it is a fairly simple read.  The phrases repeat themselves and it will become repetitious for older kids.  Kat enjoys reading to the younger kids and they enjoy their snuggle time.  One of the reasons the younger ones liked the book was because they could "help" read.  They would repeat the parts they knew and allow Kat to read the new parts!  It was adorable to watch!

This hardback book earned a spot in our Holiday Gift Guide for children 4-7.  Books about Jesus can be enjoyed year round!  Would you like to win a copy to share with your little one?

I would share this with my son. He is turning 3 in a few days and he has really started to show an interest in his Sunday School lessons. He's saying grace, bedtime prayers, and asking questions about God on his own. THis book would be an adorable learning tool for Christmas.
