DIsclosure: This is a sponsored post, but with that being said, AMD and the fight for a cure is something that is very close to my heart and that is why I chose to post!
Did you know that every year nearly 10 million Americans go blind due to AMD or Age-related Macular Degeneration. People who are 55 and older are at the greatest risk! Also, if you have a close family member who has AMD, your chances of having it are even greater! Now for the good news! A cure is in sight! The Foundation Fighting Blindness is a non-profit organization, and they have provided funding for research on cures for blindness, specifically AMD, since 1971. In fact, with the research FFB has already made possible, treatments to stop and in some cases even reverse retinal disease is a reality.
During the last few years of his life, my father struggled with losing his eyesight. As a matter of fact, at the time of his passing, he was legally blind. I know the grief he felt when he was having problems clearly seeing his grand children, children and wife. He would often act like he saw everything because it hurt too much to admit he had missed something important. I don't wish that on anyone!
The research that the Foundation Fighting Blindness is funding is very important for the benefit of people for years to come. No one should miss out on being able to see their family. Please check out the Foundation Fighting Blindness at www.FightBlindness.org, click on this link to download your free information packet, or call 1-800-BLINDNESS (254-6363) to request one. Don't wait until you or someone you love has been diagnosed with AMD to learn more!
