Changing Your Look With a Crochet Senegalese Twist #Divatress #beauty #ad

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post.  All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

Have you ever thought about changing your look?  My daughter and her friends are always trying something new.  With all the possibilities out there, you can become overwhelmed.  If you want longer hair, you can always have hair sewn into your normal hair, latch hook it, or even wear a wig.  One of the options that is available is crochet braids.  Never heard of crochet braids?  Neither had I, but Kat’s friend Lee Lee was very familiar.  Crochet braids is loose hair that you actually crochet into your hair with a crochet needle.

Lee Lee says it is easy to do.  You need to cornrow braid your hair first.  You don't have to worry if your cornrows are thin, you can use Kanekalon braiding hair to thicken up the cornrow braids!  After the cornrow braids are ready, simply crochet it in. When it is done the right way, it is almost impossible to tell that it is not your real hair.  Crochet braids can be placed in your hair in a fraction of the time that actual braiding or twisting can be done.  You have lots of choices in styles and colors too!

Some of the styles you can choose from are the ocean wave loop, water wave loop, remedy curl, cocoa curl, Senegalese twist and so many more.  You can look at the crochet Senegalese twist by checking out the photo below!  This particular style is available in nine colors.

All of the items I have been talking about can be found at Divatress.  They offer a lot of very cool "hair" at very reasonable prices. Looking good with Divatress is easy, and it does not have to cost you a fortune!

If you ask any of my family members they will quickly tell you that my favorite Christian song is "I Can Only Imagine."  This song really touched my heart the first time I heard it and I cannot hear it enough.  The song really asks all the things I have wondered about. How will I act the first time I see Jesus?  What will I do? Say?  Have you ever thought about it?

When I found out that Bart Millard of MercyMe wrote "I Can Only Imagine" in just minutes, I was stunned.  It is so beautiful and thought provoking.  Now it has become a movie.  The movie will be in theaters on March 16th and I cannot wait!  You can learn more about the movie and even buy tickets by clicking here!

About the movie:
It’s the song that brings ultimate hope to so many … often in the midst of life’s most challenging moments. Amazingly, the song was written in mere minutes by MercyMe lead singer Bart Millard. In reality, those lyrics took a lifetime to craft.

Although he found faith at a young age, life wasn’t easy for Bart. He leaned into an active imagination and his love of music as escapes from a troubled home life. As he grew older, Bart turned to football in hopes of somehow connecting with his abusive father. But a career-ending injury—combined with the vision of a teacher who saw unlimited potential—set Bart on a musical pathway.

Chasing a dream while running from broken relationships with father and Shannon, his childhood sweetheart, Bart hits the road on an old, decrepit tour bus with his new band MercyMe—named for his grandmother’s favorite expression. With the guidance of a grizzled music-industry insider, the band begins a journey none of them could ever have imagined.

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE stars J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll, Trace Adkins, Priscilla C. Shirer, with Cloris Leachman and Dennis Quaid.

I have seen several clips and the trailer for this movie and I am so excited to go see it!  The cast seems to blend well together and when you add Trace Adkins to the mix, you have my attention.

Have you seen anything about this movie?  Do you like the song?  MercyMe?  Please share your thoughts below!  I would love to hear what you think!   You can enter to win Fandango codes to go see the movie?  Simply enter on the rafflecopter form below. Only one entrant per mailing address, per giveaway.  If you have won a prize from our sponsor Propeller/FlyBy Promotions in the last 30 days on the same blog, you are not eligible to win.  Or if you have won the same prize on another blog, you are not eligible to win it again. Winner is subject to eligibility verification.

A Very Happy Easter Prayer - Children's Book Review

Disclosure:  We received a copy of this book to help facilitate our honest review.  No monetary compensation was received.

Spring might not be here according to the calendar, but our warm North Carolina weather has given my family spring fever.  Flowers and trees are blooming, birds are singing and it is almost time for Easter.  Since it is just around the corner, I'm starting to think about ways to fill an Easter basket.  I like to put some candy in it for my kids, and I also love to put a cute Easter book in it!  I make sure that my children know the real meaning of Easter and I have the perfect book for this Easter.

Bestselling author Bonnie Rickner Jensen is back with a new book that is perfect for young children.  "A Very Happy Easter Prayer" is a great way to begin to teach young children about The Resurrection.  This board book is die-cut around the shape of a dogwood tree and is adorable.  Natalia Moore shows just how wonderful she is by illustrating these colorful pictures.  There is lots of sparkle and glitter encompassing this book and the rhyming verse will be a hit with any family!  The timeless story of The Resurrection and this charming book will bring a family together to celebrate the resurrection every year.

My younger kids really enjoyed this book.  It is written for the pre-school crowd, so older kids might not be as enthusiastic as the younger ones.  It is so sweet and is a wonderful way to help them learn about Easter and what it truly means.  Since it is a board book, "A Very Happy Easter Prayer" is very sturdy and can withstand a lot of handling by messy little hands.  I have already had to wash off his book several times.

You can purchase this book in lots of different places and it retails for $8.99.  Would you like to win a copy of this book for your family?  Simply enter on this link: https://www.blessedfreebies.com/enter-to-win-a-very-happy-easter-prayer.html

I would like to offer a very special thank you to Front Gate Media for allowing me to review this wonderful book.

Dance the Night Away #ad

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post.

You're at the laundromat waiting for the washer cycle to finish and reading a magazine about local industry in your town and your eye fixes on a box advertising air dancers.  Huh? Because it seems to be your natural tendency to make random meaning out of phrases that perplex you, you start visualizing:

Out of the clouds they drift, tap dancing down rainbows, sliding down lightning bolts. Hold on to your hats, folks--the air dancers are coming!

Now the wash cycle is complete and you transfer your clothes to the dryer. But still, you can't get the air dancers out of your mind. What are these things?

You thought you'd heard it all:

  • Riverdance
  • The dance of nature
  • Dancing with stars
  • Dance of the wind
  • Dance of the sugar plum fairy
  • The dance of the planets
  • The dance of time
  • Dancing Wu Li Masters
  • Dancing bears
  • Dancing birds
  • Dancing waves

You Wrack Your Brain

You leave the laundromat and take a walk, trying to sort this out.

Since it's summer, you speculate if this is a reference to Painted Ladies and Monarchs of the butterfly kingdom that swarm your sedum garden, bellying up to the pollen bars now serving summer's delectable nectar.

Or if were fall, perhaps it'd be a poetic way to talk about the leaves that swirl in the wind presaging winter's imminent arrival.

Your brain reels. Do snowflakes dance in winter? Actually, they waltz.

You remember a classic poem, "DIE DANS VAN DIE REËN," which means "The Dance of the Rain."

Then there's Audrey Hepburn, who could have danced all night when she was Eliza Doolittle and could have spread her wings and done a thousand things she'd never done before.

There are the Flying Wallendas, who could perhaps be called air dancers.

All kinds of things dance, it seems.

On YouTube, you can even find GIFs of cute dancing animals, hilarious dancing babies.

It's None of Those

Upon reflection, you realize it could be a sort of general reference to a bunch of those. Really, anything that moves with air in such a way as to reveal air's motion could be described as an air dancer.

And then you see it, up ahead, where those people are gathered in the strip mall parking lot--what you can only describe as a giant inflatable tubular man boogying in the wind. Why, he must be 20 feet tall! And look how he sways back and forth, now down, now up. "Dude's got moves," you exclaim aloud to the other folks gathered around. "But why's he got Hoagies tattooed across his torso?"

"He's one of those advertising air dancers," someone explains to you. "See, right over there's a new sandwich shop!"
